Privacy.

Your audio never leaves your phone. Whisper transcribes on-device. Only the resulting transcript textis sent to Anthropic Claude for coaching analysis, under Anthropic’s zero-data-retention agreement. We do not train any model on your conversations. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. You can read, edit, or wipe everything in the app in one tap.

• Audio recordings (.wav files in the app’s private storage)
• Transcripts of your sessions
• The full memory profile Ascolio learns about you
• Analysis results, mood scores, patterns, and quotes
• Your streak, settings, and incognito flags

None of the items above are uploaded to any server we operate. They live only on your device, in the app’s sandboxed storage. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Tapping Settings → Delete everything wipes them immediately.

Anthropic — Claude

When you tap a session for analysis, the transcript text plus a short profile of facts you have allowed Ascolio to remember are sent over an encrypted connection to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic operates under a zero-data-retention agreement with us: they do not store your inputs after the response is returned, and they do not use them to train any model. Audio is never sent to Anthropic.

Voyage AI — embeddings

For the in-app search feature and Mira deep recall, short transcript chunks and your search queries are sent to Voyage AI (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anthropic) so we can compute embeddings — the vector math that powers semantic search. Voyage processes inputs without long-term retention and does not train on customer data.

Apple / Google — in-app purchases

If you upgrade to Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We receive a receipt token and your subscription status. We do not receive your full payment details.

Crash reporting (Sentry)

If the app crashes we send a stack trace and basic device info (model, OS version) to Sentry so we can fix it. Crash reports never include your transcripts, audio, memory facts, or contact data.

• Read or transmit memory facts you marked incognito or deleted
• Read your contacts, photos, location, or calendar

Because nearly everything lives on your device, you control it directly:

• Read what we know: Settings → What I remember about you
• Forget a single fact: tap any line in the memory list
• Forget an entire session: flip the incognito toggle in the conversation header
• Wipe everything: Settings → Delete everything
• Take your data with you: Settings → Export my data generates a JSON file you can keep or import elsewhere

If you are in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with statutory data rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and need anything beyond the in-app controls, write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

Ascolio is for users 13 and older (16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from younger children. If you believe we have, write to [email protected] and we will delete the account.

If we change this policy in a way that affects what data is collected or sent, we will notify users in-app before the change takes effect. Older versions remain accessible on request.
